Election Commission: With 87.23% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.5%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results from the parliamentary elections conducted on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 87.23% of the tally sheets from section election commissions, as reported to the constituency election commissions by 9:00 AM on Monday. According to the Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the distribution of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day.

Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days after the election. These elections represent the eighth parliamentary contest in Bulgaria since 2021. The preliminary nature of the report indicates that the full tabulation process is ongoing.

The CEC’s systematic processing of the tally sheets is crucial for establishing the final electoral outcome. Stakeholders and the public await the official declaration from the commission, which will solidify the mandate distribution following the completion of the count. The election process is governed by established timelines designed to ensure transparency and accuracy in the final results announcement by the relevant commission.
