Election Commission: With 60.79% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 14.3%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results for the parliamentary election held on April 19. As of 6 a.m. on Monday, the initial announcement was based on 60.79% of the total tally sheets collected.

The CEC’s mandate under the Election Code specifies timelines for the final declaration of results. The commission is required to announce the votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among political parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election date. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days after the election.

These elections mark the eighth parliamentary contest in Bulgaria since 2021. The preliminary data provided by the commission offers an early indication of the electoral outcome. The process involves the systematic collation of results from various polling stations, with the CEC responsible for aggregating the figures derived from the tally sheets.

This initial release provides stakeholders with a snapshot of the vote count, pending the full count and final certification by the commission. The ongoing process aims to ensure transparency and adherence to the established legal framework governing the election results.
