Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15th through the 17th. For the third consecutive appearance, the ensemble will perform Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance, aiming to convey the collective energy inherent in their cultural traditions.

Preparations for the performance are reportedly underway with considerable dedication, involving bi-weekly rehearsals and meticulous costume preparation. SamoDivi is described as a small yet closely connected group, comprising dancers from various generations. For the members, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a unifying bond and a sense of belonging regardless of their geographical location.

The team expressed anticipation for sharing this cultural expression on the Munich stage. The festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, is dedicated to showcasing amateur folklore dance groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative originated with the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

The 11th edition in Munich anticipates participation from over 100 dance ensemble groups, expecting an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, providing coverage for all participating groups.
