Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event is set to take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” intending to convey the emotional connection inherent in their cultural traditions.

The members of SamoDivi reported that preparations are proceeding with dedication, including bi-weekly rehearsals and detailed work on their costumes. The ensemble is described as small yet tightly knit, featuring dancers from various generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere dance; it represents a communal bond and a connection to home, regardless of their geographical location.

Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance is dedicated to showcasing amateur folklore ensembles performing outside of Bulgaria. The festival initiative was originally established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. For the 11th installment in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests.

The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, presenting all participating groups.
