The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites its members regardless of their location.
Preparations for the performance are reportedly proceeding with dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals and detailed costume preparation. SamoDivi is described as a small yet cohesive group featuring dancers spanning multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere dance; it represents a bond, a sense of belonging, and a means of maintaining cultural connection globally.
The SamoDivi team expressed anticipation about sharing this cultural emotion on stage in Munich. The Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance festival is organized specifically for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was originally launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.
For the 11th installment in Munich, organizers anticipate an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests, featuring more than 100 participating dance groups. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participants.
