The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to perform at the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which will present “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that connects its members regardless of their location.
According to the SamoDivi team, preparations are advancing through dedicated rehearsals held twice weekly, alongside detailed work on costumes and choreography. The samodivi group is described as a small but cohesive unit comprising dancers from various generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a vital connection, a sense of belonging, and a means of maintaining community worldwide.
The festival, which is organized for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. The event has a history of hosting large-scale gatherings, having previously held editions in 2015 and 2025. The 11th Munich iteration is anticipated to host over 100 dance groups and an attendance exceeding 4,000 guests.
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is serving as the official media partner for the event and will feature all participating groups.
