The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to perform “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.”
The members of SamoDivi anticipate sharing the performance’s energy, describing it as “that sincere, vibrant emotion we carry within us, which brings us together no matter where we are.” The group has reported that preparations are advancing with dedication, involving rehearsals twice weekly and detailed costume work.
SamoDivi is characterized as a small yet cohesive group comprising dancers from multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a deep bond, a sense of home, and a means of maintaining connection regardless of their global locations. The festival, which is organized for amateur folklore groups performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France.
This initiative successfully hosted its first edition in 2015 and its tenth in 2025. For the 11th edition in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, presenting all participating groups.
SamoDivi expressed anticipation for sharing their cultural expression on stage in Munich.
