Two of President Iotova’s Armenia Visit for European Political Community Summit

Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova’s visit to Armenia for the Eighth Summit of the European Political Community continues, according to the President’s press secretariat. President Iotova is scheduled to participate in a high-level event focusing on the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. This corridor represents a strategic effort designed to bolster energy security and diversify natural gas supplies across Southeastern, Eastern, and Central Europe.

During the forum, President Iotova is expected to address the critical role of transport and energy connectivity within Europe. Her participation schedule also includes an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.” On the sidelines of the main Summit, she is set to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The Summit is jointly chaired by European Council President Antonio Costa and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Earlier on Sunday, President Iotova and Mr. Pashinyan signed a Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and Armenia. Furthermore, President Iotova visited the Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, which is named after the notable Bulgarian poet.

During these engagements, President Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed methods to deepen cooperation between the two nations. The Bulgarian president emphasized the significance of the European Political Community in enhancing connectivity and promoting stronger relations throughout Europe.
