Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the group, who plan to present a performance titled Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance.

The members of SamoDivi have reported that preparations are underway with significant dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals, costume refinement, and detailed choreography work. The ensemble, which comprises dancers from multiple generations, views folklore not merely as a performance art but as a vital connection, a sense of belonging, and a means of maintaining cultural bonds regardless of global location. The festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, is dedicated to amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria.

The initiative was established by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which previously hosted both the inaugural event in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025. For the 11th iteration in Munich, organizers anticipate attendance from over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the festival, responsible for presenting all participating groups.

SamoDivi anticipates sharing their cultural energy with the international audience gathered in Munich.
