Nessebar Municipality has announced comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Giro d’Italia 2026, which is scheduled to commence on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre, a detailed cultural and sporting programme has been organized to coincide with the major cycling event. The preparatory activities begin on May 7.
The day’s schedule includes a bazaar taking place in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour of the coastal area starting at 10 a.m. The evening portion of the programme promises significant entertainment. Attendees can enjoy a performance by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre.
Later, the Old Town fortress walls will host a series of concerts, featuring performances by the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R. Following the musical events, the municipality has arranged a fireworks display. On the day of the race, May 8, the municipality will also organize a cross-country race utilizing the official Giro d’Italia route.
These planned events aim to engage the community and celebrate the arrival of the international cycling competition. The municipality’s efforts ensure a multi-faceted celebration, combining athletic endeavors with cultural highlights throughout the duration of the festivities.
