The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the formal declarations made by fourteen candidates who were elected in two separate multi-member constituencies (MMCs) regarding their entry into the 52nd National Assembly. The decisions were disclosed by the CEC’s Deputy Chair during a meeting on Friday. Previously, the CEC had reported that thirteen candidates fit this criterion.
The count increased to fourteen after a list leader finalized their choice of constituency. These declarations require the individuals to select one specific MMC from the two where they achieved election. The CEC detailed the specific changes, noting that several prominent figures adjusted their representation.
For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev chose to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen. Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev opted for MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia. Other shifts included Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov choosing MMC 16 – Plovdiv over MMC 25 – Sofia.
The list of declarations covered fourteen individuals, specifying their chosen MMC and the alternative MMC they were previously associated with. The CEC confirmed that on Thursday, it had also announced the initial distribution of seats among political parties for the upcoming parliament. The commission is scheduled to release the comprehensive final list of all members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
