President Iliana Iotova is scheduled to visit Yerevan to attend the 8th summit of the European Political Community on May 3 and 4. The forum, themed “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” is expected to gather nearly 50 heads of state and government. Notably, Canada will participate as a non-European guest country, represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney.

On Sunday, May 3, President Iotova’s itinerary includes meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Furthermore, Iotova will visit the 131st Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, an institution that focuses on the study of Bulgarian folklore. The following day, Monday, May 4, the focus shifts to regional infrastructure and energy.

President Iotova will take part in a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. Within the broader framework of the European summit, she is slated to participate in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.” During this event, Iotova’s address is anticipated to emphasize the importance of transport and energy connectivity across Europe. On the sidelines of the political forum, the head of state is also scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.
