Iotova to Attend 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan

President Iliana Iotova is scheduled to visit Yerevan for the 8th summit of the European Political Community on May 3 and 4. The forum, themed “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe,” is expected to convene nearly 50 heads of state and government. A notable aspect of the summit is the participation of Canada, represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney, marking the first time a non-European guest country will attend.

On Sunday, May 3, President Iotova’s itinerary includes meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Furthermore, she will visit the 131st Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, an institution dedicated to studying Bulgarian folklore. The following day, May 4, President Iotova will engage in discussions regarding the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security.

Within the broader scope of the European summit, she will participate in the “European Coalition Against Drugs,” where her address is slated to focus specifically on European transport and energy connectivity. On the sidelines of the political gathering, she is also scheduled to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The summit provides a platform for high-level dialogue, emphasizing shared goals for stability and development across the continent.
