Warner Bros Discovery Bulgaria, the rights holder for broadcasting the Giro d’Italia, has issued guidelines for spectators planning to view the race live during its stages in Bulgaria. While viewers can follow every moment from home via Eurosport and HBO Max, attending in person offers a distinct spectator experience. All stages will remain available on demand in HBO Max’s “Sport” section for at least one month following the race.
Spectators should note that start and finish zones are restricted areas, with access limited to organizers, teams, media, and accredited personnel, and closures begin significantly in advance. Arriving late is discouraged due to potentially poor visibility and occupied viewing locations. Visitors must be prepared for significant walking, as dedicated spectator parking is unavailable, with available spaces reserved for teams, media, and organizers.
While close proximity to riders is possible near team bus parking areas, typically at finish zones and occasionally at starts, fans are encouraged to support the riders through applause and enjoying the atmosphere. Spectators must remain off the roadway. If entering the road, they must move well away from the approaching riders to prevent danger.
Loose items like bags or cameras should be secured to avoid snagging on passing cyclists. Crossing the road should only occur when it is absolutely clear that no riders are approaching at high speed, and all instructions from race stewards must be followed, especially at start and finish areas. Fans are advised against attempting to take water bottles directly from riders, though polite requests may yield a positive response.
In team bus areas, spectators should avoid walking in the middle of the road and remain alert for returning cyclists.
