Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. For the third consecutive appearance, the ensemble plans to present “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” intending to convey the unifying emotional bond shared among its members regardless of their global location.

SamoDivi, which comprises dancers from multiple generations, reports that preparations are underway with focused dedication, including bi-weekly rehearsals and costume detailing. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a deep connection, a sense of belonging, and a source of community support. The festival, organized for amateur folklore groups performing outside Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France.

This initiative previously hosted editions in 2015 and 2025. The 11th iteration in Munich anticipates attendance from over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, responsible for presenting all participating groups.

SamoDivi’s participation contributes to the international showcase of Balkan cultural traditions through dedicated dance arts. The commitment of the samodivi ensemble highlights the enduring cultural significance of their art form within the diaspora community.
