Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble, which plans to present “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites its members regardless of their location.

The SamoDivi team reported that preparations are proceeding with significant enthusiasm, involving twice-weekly rehearsals and detailed costume preparations. The group is characterized as a small but cohesive unit, comprising dancers from multiple generations. For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a bond, a sense of home, and a means of maintaining connection across geographical distances.

The SamoDivi team expressed anticipation about sharing this cultural emotion on stage in Munich. The festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance, is organized specifically for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria. The initiative was initially launched by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France, which hosted both the first edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

The upcoming 11th edition in Munich is anticipated to host over 100 dance groups and an audience exceeding 4,000 attendees. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, responsible for presenting all participating groups.
