Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble SamoDivi is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. This event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to 17. For the third consecutive time, the ensemble will perform their piece, “Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance,” aiming to convey the “sincere, vibrant emotion” that unites them regardless of their location.

SamoDivi members report that preparations are advancing with significant enthusiasm. The group is currently rehearsing twice weekly, focusing on detailed choreography and costume preparation. The ensemble comprises dancers from multiple generations, and for the performers, folklore transcends mere dance; it represents a connection, a sense of home, and a means of maintaining unity globally.

The SamoDivi team expressed anticipation for sharing this emotion on the Munich stage. The festival, organized for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This group hosted the inaugural edition in 2015 and the tenth edition in 2025.

The 11th edition in Munich is anticipated to host over 100 participating dance groups and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event and will provide coverage of all participants.
