13 Elected MP Candidates Must Pick Constituency on Friday

The Central Election Commission has notified the 13 candidates who were elected in two separate electoral districts that they must finalize which constituency they intend to represent in the 52nd National Assembly by Friday. The election process saw a total of 1,019 candidates participating across the two constituencies, marking the maximum allowable participation for the April 19 early parliamentary elections. The 13 individuals who secured election in both areas represent the leadership of the five coalitions and political parties that have successfully gained seats in the new legislative body.

These key figures include Rumen Radev, representing Progressive Bulgaria; Boyko Borissov of GERB-UDF; Assen Vassilev and Nikolay Denkov, associated with Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria; Delyan Peevski from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms; and Kostadin Kostadinov of Vazrazhdane. This requirement for the electees to choose a single primary constituency is a procedural step following their dual success in the elections. The deadline ensures the smooth confirmation of representation for the upcoming parliamentary session.
