13 Elected MP Candidates Must Pick Constituency on Friday

The Central Election Commission has informed that the 13 candidates who were elected in two separate constituencys and stood in both are required to declare their preferred representative area by Friday. This directive follows the recent early parliamentary elections held in April 19. In total, 1,019 candidates participated across the two constituencies, representing the maximum allowable number of participants.

The 13 individuals mentioned are notable as they represent the leadership figures from all five coalitions and parties that secured seats in the new legislature. These prominent elected candidates include Rumen Radev, representing Progressive Bulgaria; Boyko Borissov of GERB-UDF; Assen Vassilev and Nikolay Denkov from Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria; Delyan Peevski of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms; and Kostadin Kostadinov of Vazrazhdane. The commission’s ruling clarifies the logistical requirement for these multi-elected figures.

They must formally designate which single constituency they intend to represent within the 52nd National Assembly. This process ensures clear representation and organizational structure for the incoming legislative body.
