The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results following the parliamentary elections held on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 87.23% of the available tally sheets from section election commissions, which were compiled at the constituency election commission level as of Monday morning. The preliminary announcement provides an update on the ongoing vote counting process for the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021.

Under the established Election Code, the CEC is bound by specific timelines for finalizing the election results. The commission must officially announce the total votes received and the distribution of seats among various parties and coalitions no later than four days after the election day. Furthermore, the names of the elected Members of Parliament are scheduled for release within seven days following the election.

The current release reflects the procedural progress of the vote count, utilizing the detailed data gathered by the various commission levels. The CEC’s systematic processing of the tally sheets ensures adherence to national electoral law. Stakeholders and the public are awaiting the final tabulation from the commission, which will confirm the full outcome of the democratic exercise.

This preliminary data serves as an interim report while the central commission completes the verification of all outstanding tally sheets to finalize the official declaration of the election results.
