Gurov to Participate in Informal Meeting of EU Heads of State and Government

Prime Minister Andrey Gurov is scheduled to participate in an informal meeting of the heads of state and government of European Union Member States, which will be held in Cyprus on April 23-24, according to the Government Press Service on Thursday. The agenda for the high-level meeting is comprehensive, focusing on several critical geopolitical and economic issues. Discussions are slated to cover the ongoing conflict in Iran and the broader situation across the Middle East.

A key area of focus will be assessing how the prevailing geopolitical environment is influencing global fossil fuel and energy price stability. Furthermore, the gathering will address the EU’s strategic economic planning, specifically reviewing the Multiannual Financial Framework intended for the 2028-2034 period. Another major topic for the government representatives will be the “One Europe, One Market” Roadmap, designed to bolster overall European competitiveness.

Beyond the main plenary sessions, the forum in Cyprus is set to include bilateral and multilateral engagements. These include a dedicated meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Additionally, Prime Minister Gurov’s schedule incorporates separate meetings with representatives from several key regional players, namely Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and the President of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The participation of the Prime Minister underscores the focus on multilateral dialogue addressing both regional stability and future economic integration within the bloc.
