The Central Election Commission (CEC) confirmed that fourteen candidates, who were elected in two different Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs), have now declared their preferred list for entry into the 52nd National Assembly. The decisions were announced by the CEC’s Deputy Chair during a meeting on Friday. Previously, the CEC had stated that thirteen candidates were elected across two MMCs.
The count increased to fourteen following the decision by Katya Paneva, a list leader, regarding her preferred constituency. The declarations detailed which specific MMC each candidate wishes to represent. Notable changes include Alexander Georgiev Pulev choosing MMC 27 – Stara Zagora over MMC 30 – Shumen, and Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev opting for MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia.
Other shifts noted among the candidates include Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 – Burgas to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov shifting from MMC 25 – Sofia to MMC 16 – Plovdiv. Several other candidates made similar adjustments, such as Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev choosing MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo, and Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo instead of MMC 23 – Sofia. The list of fourteen candidates finalized their representation across the various constituencies.
The CEC is scheduled to announce the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Furthermore, the commission had previously announced the distribution of seats among political parties for the upcoming parliament.
