Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced details regarding the final placement of candidates who were elected through two different multi-member constituencies (MMCs) into the 52nd National Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the CEC confirmed the decisions of 14 individuals during a meeting on Friday. The CEC had previously stated that 13 candidates had been elected across two MMCs, with the final count reaching 14 after one additional list leader made a decision regarding their representation.

Consequently, these 14 individuals have now declared which specific constituency list they will enter the National Assembly from. Specific changes in constituency preference were announced for several members. For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen.

Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev chose MMC 9 – Kardzhali over MMC 24 – Sofia, and Rumen Georgiev Radev selected MMC 25 – Sofia instead of MMC 2 – Burgas. Other documented shifts include Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 16 – Plovdiv to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev choosing MMC 24 – Sofia over MMC 29 – Haskovo. The list of changes also included Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo, and Katya Maksimova Paneva choosing MMC 25 – Sofia over MMC 29 – Haskovo.

The CEC further noted that on Thursday, it had already published the distribution of seats among various political parties for the upcoming parliament. The commission is scheduled to release the complete roster of members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
