The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the final declarations regarding which list several candidates who were elected from two multi-member constituencies (MMCs) will enter the 52nd National Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the CEC confirmed that 14 individuals made these choices during a meeting held on Friday. The CEC had previously stated that 13 candidates were elected across two MMCs, with the total increasing to 14 after a list leader finalized their choice of constituency.
These 14 individuals have now officially specified their preferred entry point for the National Assembly. The declarations detailed several shifts in representation. For example, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen.
Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev chose MMC 9 – Kardzhali over MMC 24 – Sofia. Other notable shifts included Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 – Burgas to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov selecting MMC 16 – Plovdiv instead of MMC 25 – Sofia. The list included changes for several other candidates, such as Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev choosing MMC 24 – Sofia over MMC 29 – Haskovo, and Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo instead of MMC 23 – Sofia.
The procedural confirmations covered 14 distinct cases, ensuring clarity on representation for the next legislative session. The CEC is scheduled to publish the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. This follows the commission’s announcement on Thursday detailing the initial distribution of seats among various political parties.
