Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the overall victory. During the competition, Nasar established an early lead in the snatch with a lift of 176 kg, followed by a clean and jerk lift of 210 kg.
His performances in both disciplines were noted as the strongest, leading to his dominant win. Armenia’s Ara Aganyan finished in second place with a total of 381 kg, and France’s Romain Imadouchene secured the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg. In the snatch, Nasar confirmed his gold medal with a successful lift of 176 kg after an initial opening weight of 170 kg.
Although he attempted a world record lift of 183 kg in his final attempt, this lift was unsuccessful. For the clean and jerk, Nasar’s first attempt at 210 kg was not validated by the judges following a review, but he successfully lifted the same weight on his second attempt. For his final clean and jerk lift, Nasar targeted a world record total by attempting 223 kg, but this lift was also unsuccessful.
His consistent performance ensured his fourth European championship title.
