Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

Fourteen candidates who were elected in two separate Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) have formally declared which list they intend to represent in the 52nd National Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced these decisions during a CEC meeting on Friday. Previously, the CEC had stated that 13 candidates were elected across two MMCs, with the final candidate, Katya Paneva, joining this group after a list leader confirmed their preferred constituency.

The declarations detail shifts in representation for the newly elected members. For example, Alexander Georgiev Pulev chose to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora, rather than MMC 30 – Shumen. Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev will represent from MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia, and Rumen Georgiev Radev will enter from MMC 25 – Sofia, shifting from MMC 2 – Burgas.

Other notable shifts include Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 16 – Plovdiv instead of MMC 25 – Sofia, and Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev from MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo. The changes affect several other candidates, including Tomislav Peykov Donchev (MMC 7 – Gabrovo instead of MMC 23 – Sofia), Asen Vaskov Vassilev (MMC 16 – Plovdiv instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo), and Nikolay Denkov Denkov (MMC 1 – Blagoevgrad instead of MMC 23 – Sofia). The CEC confirmed that these declarations finalize the list of candidates who were elected in two constituencies.

The commission is scheduled to release the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday, following a prior announcement regarding the distribution of seats among political parties.
