& Caravaning Expo 2026 Opens with Nearly 100 Exhibitors

The Camping & Caravaning Expo 2026 opened Friday at the former Sofia Land park and will run through Sunday, organized by Camping.BG. This marks the 12th consecutive year of the event. This year, the expo features 99 exhibitors from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, and Germany, and is projected to draw over 12,000 visitors.

The exhibition showcases current trends in recreational vehicles, including campers, caravans, and camping gear, alongside water sports and cycling products. According to Camping.BG founder Veselin Valev, interest in camping tourism in Bulgaria is increasing. Valev noted that equipment prices vary widely, ranging from approximately EUR 100 to EUR 100,000 for campers, and that trailers offer a budget-friendly alternative to campers.

He advised that campers are best for traveling and short stops, whereas caravans are better suited for extended stays in one location. Organizers recommend that first-time visitors utilize regulated campgrounds, which provide amenities such as showers and toilets, rather than engaging in wild camping. Bulgaria currently has over 200 campsites, with inland locations often boasting higher service levels, including modern thermal campgrounds.

The expo provides educational sessions covering topics like converting vans into campervans and sustainable travel. A key focus this year is responsible camping, featuring presentations on global trips. Furthermore, the event addresses infrastructure challenges, emphasizing the need for improved roads to support the growth of camping tourism.

Attendees can engage with various exhibitors and learn practical advice about the lifestyle associated with caravaning.
