The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced Friday that fourteen candidates who were elected in two separate Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) have formally declared which list they will use for entry into the 52nd National Assembly. The CEC’s Deputy Chair provided the updates during a meeting, noting that the number of individuals making these declarations increased from thirteen on Thursday to fourteen, following a decision by list leader Katya Paneva. These fourteen candidates must now commit to a single constituency, as they were initially elected under the provisions of two different MMCs.
The declarations specify the chosen constituency for each individual. For example, Alexander Georgiev Pulev opted to enter from MMC 27 – Stara Zagora rather than MMC 30 – Shumen. Similarly, Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev chose MMC 9 – Kardzhali over MMC 24 – Sofia, while Rumen Georgiev Radev selected MMC 25 – Sofia instead of MMC 2 – Burgas.
The declarations covered various shifts, including Boyko Metodiev Borissov choosing MMC 16 – Plovdiv over MMC 25 – Sofia, and Tomislav Peykov Donchev selecting MMC 7 – Gabrovo over MMC 23 – Sofia. Other candidates included Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev choosing MMC 24 – Sofia over MMC 29 – Haskovo, and Dimitar Ivanov Avramov selecting MMC 15 – Pleven instead of MMC 12 – Montana. The CEC previously informed the public on Thursday regarding the preliminary distribution of seats among political parties.
The commission is scheduled to announce the complete roster of members of the 52
