Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

The Central Election Commission (CEC) confirmed the list of declarations regarding the 52nd National Assembly for candidates elected through multiple constituencies. The CEC announced that a total of 14 individuals, who were elected in two multi-member constituencies (MMCs), have specified their preferred list from which they wish to enter the new Assembly. The Deputy Chair of the CEC detailed these decisions during a meeting on Friday.

The process involved an initial count of 13 candidates, with the final declaration coming from Katya Paneva, who finalized the group of 14. These declarations represent shifts in affiliation between the various MMCs. Specific changes noted include Alexander Georgiev Pulev choosing MMC 27 – Stara Zagora over MMC 30 – Shumen, and Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev opting for MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia.

Other shifts documented include Rumen Georgiev Radev moving from MMC 2 to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Boyko Metodiev Borissov transferring from MMC 25 – Sofia to MMC 16 – Plovdiv. The list of 14 candidates demonstrates a reallocation of representation across several regions. For instance, Tomislav Peykov Donchev selected MMC 7 – Gabrovo over MMC 23 – Sofia, while Dimitar Ivanov Avramov chose MMC 15 – Pleven rather than MMC 12 – Montana.

The CEC is scheduled to release the comprehensive list of members of the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday. Previously, the commission had also announced the preliminary distribution of seats among the various political parties for the upcoming parliament.
