Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the gold medal. Nasar’s performance was marked by strong showings in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.

In the snatch, he established an early lead with a lift of 176 kg, and later confirmed his gold medal lift at the same weight after an initial opening attempt of 170 kg. During his final attempt in the snatch, Nasar attempted a world record lift of 183 kg but was unsuccessful. For the clean and jerk, Nasar initially lifted 210 kg, a lift that was not validated by the judges upon review.

He successfully repeated the 210 kg lift on his second attempt. In his final effort for the clean and jerk, Nasar attempted 223 kg, aiming for a world record total, but this lift was unsuccessful. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg.

Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with a total of 370 kg. Nasar’s victory marks his fourth major European championship title.
