Nasar Wins Fourth European Weightlifting Title

Bulgarian weightlifter Karlos Nasar secured his fourth European title at the European Championships held in Batumi. Competing in the men’s 94 kg weight class, Nasar achieved a total of 386 kg to claim the overall victory. Nasar’s performance was marked by strong showings in both the snatch and the clean and jerk.

In the snatch, he took an early lead with a lift of 176 kg, and later confirmed his gold medal lift with a successful attempt of the same weight after opening at 170 kg. During his final snatch attempt, he aimed for a world record at 183 kg but did not successfully complete the lift. The clean and jerk saw Nasar initially lift 210 kg, a lift that was later invalidated by the judges following a review.

He successfully re-established this weight on his second attempt. For his final clean and jerk lift, Nasar attempted 223 kg in an effort to set a world record total, but this attempt was unsuccessful. The competition saw Ara Aganyan of Armenia finish in second place with a total of 381 kg, and Romain Imadouchene of France secured the bronze medal with 370 kg.

This victory marks the fourth European title for Nasar in the weightlifting discipline.
