While the hotel’s primary customer base remains Bulgarian, Zahov indicated that international demand is growing. He stated that this influx of interest reflects both sustained regional demand and established brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East.
The Katarino SPA Hotel has achieved recognition for its quality, being ranked first among the top ten five-star mountain hotels in Bulgaria for 2025, marking the second consecutive year. This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which assesses guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has also received several other accolades, including recognition for best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and best four-star spa hotel offering local cuisine in 2022.
The hotel’s extensive spa centre provides complimentary access to numerous thermal and relaxation facilities. These amenities include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas (Finnish, Kiva, and infrared). Further offerings include an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium.
For specialized treatments, the hotel provides massages, hydrotherapy options such as flotation and Cleopatra baths, and various therapies targeting relaxation, recovery, and preventive care.
