Chair Says His Party Will Be “Nation’s Conscience” in New Parliament

During the inaugural session of the 52nd National Assembly on Thursday, Kostadin Kostadinov, the chair of the Vazrazhdane party, addressed the assembly from the rostrum. Speaking to the Bulgarian populace, Kostadinov asserted that his party intends to serve as “the nation’s conscience.” He stated that Vazrazhdane is committed to continuing to articulate the truth within what he described as a misleading environment, adding that the party would concurrently work to propose tangible solutions to national challenges. A central focus of his address was the necessity of reinstating the Bulgarian lev currency.

Kostadinov specifically argued that the current state debt levels are a direct consequence of Bulgaria’s mandatory entry into the eurozone. The chair elaborated on the party’s platform, emphasizing a return to national economic sovereignty. According to Kostadinov, the existing financial structure requires fundamental reassessment to align with Bulgarian economic interests.

His statements framed the party’s role as one of principled opposition, dedicated to challenging prevailing narratives. The Vazrazhdane party leadership indicated that their efforts would concentrate on providing an alternative policy framework that addresses the root causes of fiscal instability. The address marked a clear declaration of intent from the party to play a significant and critical role in the ongoing legislative and political discourse within the National Assembly.
