Her nomination received support from 188 MPs representing Progressive Bulgaria, GERB-UDF, and the Movement for Rights and Freedom. Dotsova, who is 42, brings extensive legal and administrative experience to the role. She is a lawyer who has been professionally associated with the Ministry of Environment and Water since 2017, where she served in leadership roles, including heading the Legal Directorate for over seven years. Furthermore, she has worked as a lawyer for the National Assembly and the Sofia Regional Administration.
Academically, Dotsova holds a PhD in Administrative Law and Administrative Procedure. Her background includes authoring more than 13 scientific publications focusing on areas such as local self-government and environmental law. Her election marks a significant moment for legislative oversight within Bulgaria, placing a focus on institutional strengthening and legal adherence.
