Iotova to Attend 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan

President Iliana Iotova is scheduled to visit Yerevan to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community on May 3 and 4. The forum, which gathers nearly 50 heads of state and government, is themed “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.” Notably, Canada will participate for the first time as a non-European guest, represented by Prime Minister Mark Carney. On Sunday, May 3, the head of state will hold meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

During her visit, Iotova is also scheduled to visit the 131st Peyo Yavorov Primary School in Yerevan, an institution noted for its study of Bulgarian folklore. The agenda continues on Monday, May 4, where President Iotova will address a high-level event concerning the impact of the Vertical Gas Corridor on regional energy security. As part of the broader summit framework, Iotova will participate in an event titled “European Coalition Against Drugs.” Her address is anticipated to focus specifically on enhancing transport and energy connectivity across Europe.

Furthermore, on the sidelines of this significant political forum, the head of state is set to meet with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas. The visit underscores the depth of diplomatic engagement within the European sphere.
