During the inaugural sitting of the 52nd National Assembly, Ayten Sabri, an MP for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), stated that the party intends to serve as a constructive and responsible opposition. Sabri emphasized that the MRF will support policies that safeguard the rights and freedoms of the populace and advance the interests of the Bulgarian State. Concurrently, she asserted that the party will act as a principled corrective force whenever there is a deviation from the principles of good governance, transparency, legality, democracy, and human rights.
Addressing the need for clear direction amid volatile domestic and international conditions, Sabri outlined the MRF’s priorities. These include enhancing the quality of life and standard of living, achieving economic stability and growth, modernizing both the economy and agricultural production, ensuring food safety, mitigating social and regional disparities, and supporting young families. Furthermore, the party committed to the country’s consistent European development, effective EU membership, and fostering robust partnerships with the US and the Euro-Atlantic community.
Sabri affirmed that the MRF’s actions will be guided by the principle of upholding the liberty, justice, and equality of every citizen. She stressed that this commitment is vital for moving beyond confrontation and restoring a culture of political dialogue aimed at finding common public solutions. In concluding her remarks, she urged the Parliament to set an example of political maturity, urging lawmakers to build consensus on key issues for Bulgaria’s future.
