Martin Gramatikov secured a silver medal in the Men’s 50-year-old (M50) 10 kilometres race walk event at the 2026 European Masters Championship Non-Stadia, held in Catania, Italy. According to the announcement made by the Bulgarian Athletic Federation on Saturday, Gramatikov clocked a time of 50 minutes and 24 seconds. He finished just behind Tomasz Lipiec of Poland, who claimed the gold medal in the highly competitive race.
This medal marks a significant achievement for the Bulgarian athlete. Gramatikov has established himself as a prominent figure in national and international track events. Earlier in the year, his success was highlighted by becoming Bulgaria’s first champion in the road half-marathon discipline.
Furthermore, his consistency was demonstrated at the National Race Walking Championships, where he achieved victory in the 10,000 metres race on the track in Hisarya. The recent performance in Catania underscores Gramatikov’s ability to compete at a high international level. His progression across various distance races, from the half-marathon to championship-level track events, indicates a sustained period of peak physical condition and competitive form.
The Bulgarian federation continues to recognize his contributions to the sport following this latest international success.
