Candidates Elected in Two Constituencies Declare Which One They Will Represent

The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the constituency declarations for fourteen candidates who were elected in two separate Multi-Member Constituencies (MMCs) and are set to enter the 52nd National Assembly. During a CEC meeting on Friday, the Deputy Chair confirmed the decisions of these individuals regarding their preferred list. The CEC previously stated that thirteen candidates had been elected across two MMCs.

The count increased to fourteen following a declaration from Katya Paneva, who finalized her choice of constituency. These candidates must formally state which MMC they wish to represent. The declarations detail specific shifts in representation.

For instance, Alexander Georgiev Pulev declared his preference for MMC 27 – Stara Zagora over MMC 30 – Shumen. Other notable shifts include Ivan Petev Demerdzhiev opting for MMC 9 – Kardzhali instead of MMC 24 – Sofia, and Rumen Georgiev Radev choosing MMC 25 – Sofia rather than MMC 2 – Burgas. The group includes several individuals who have switched their declared constituency, such as Boyko Metodiev Borissov moving from MMC 16 – Plovdiv to MMC 25 – Sofia, and Delyan Aleksandrov Dobrev selecting MMC 24 – Sofia instead of MMC 29 – Haskovo.

The list of fourteen candidates covers various geographic changes, ensuring all preferences are formally recorded for the new legislative body. The CEC had previously announced the distribution of seats among political parties on Thursday. Consequently, the commission is anticipated to release the complete roster of members for the 52nd National Assembly on Saturday.
