Election Commission: With 78.24% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.5%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.7%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results stemming from the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial findings are based on the processing of 78.24% of the total tally sheets, which were submitted by section election commissions to the constituency election commissions as of 8:00 am on Monday. The announcement of these preliminary figures marks a key procedural step in the electoral process.

Under the established Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the final vote counts and the distribution of seats among participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day. Furthermore, the names of the officially elected Members of Parliament must be published within seven days of the election. These proceedings constitute the eighth parliamentary election in Bulgaria since 2021.

The ongoing tabulation process involves multiple levels of oversight, with various commissions ensuring the integrity of the vote count. The careful aggregation of the tally sheets by the various commission levels is crucial for finalizing the legislative composition. The CEC continues to monitor the submission of all remaining documentation to complete the official count for this significant election.
