Election Commission: With 87.23% of Tally Sheets Processed, Progressive Bulgaria Leads with 44.6%, Second Is CC-DB with 13.5%

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has released preliminary results stemming from the parliamentary election held on April 19. These initial figures are based on the processing of 87.23% of the available tally sheets, compiled by section election commissions and subsequently aggregated at the constituency level as of 9:00 a.m. on Monday.

These results mark the eighth parliamentary election conducted in Bulgaria since 2021. The announcement of these preliminary figures adheres to the established procedures governing the electoral process. Under the stipulations of the Election Code, the CEC is mandated to announce the total votes received and the subsequent distribution of seats among participating parties and coalitions no later than four days following the election day.

Furthermore, the identification and naming of all elected Members of Parliament must be finalized and published within seven days of the vote. The current release represents a critical step in the tabulation process. The detailed review of the tally sheets by various commissions is necessary to ensure the integrity of the final count.

The preliminary nature of the announcement means that the final determination of the legislative composition awaits the processing of all remaining materials. Stakeholders are awaiting the official confirmation from the commission regarding the full scope of the electoral results, which will conclude the procedural phase of the recent election.
