Folk Dance Ensemble SamoDivi to Perform in Munich

The Innsbruck-based folk dance ensemble, SamoDivi, is scheduled to participate in the 11th edition of the traveling festival, Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance. The event will take place at Munich’s BMW Park from May 15 to May 17. This marks the third consecutive appearance for the ensemble.

At the festival, SamoDivi will present their routine, Zaludo Libe Kitka ne Davaydance, aiming to convey the vibrant emotion central to their cultural expression. The group confirmed that preparations are proceeding with dedication, involving twice-weekly rehearsals and meticulous attention to costume details. SamoDivi is characterized as a small but cohesive group, comprising dancers from various generations.

For the performers, folklore transcends mere performance; it represents a cultural bond and a source of communal connection regardless of their global location. The festival, organized for amateur folklore ensemble groups performing outside of Bulgaria, was initiated by the Ot Izvora group in Lyon, France. This initiative successfully hosted its first edition in 2015, followed by a tenth edition in 2025.

The upcoming 11th iteration in Munich anticipates participation from over 100 dance groups and an attendance of more than 4,000 guests. The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) serves as the official media partner for the event, providing coverage for all participants. SamoDivi looks forward to sharing their cultural heritage on stage in Munich.
