The novel Time Shelter has been successfully published in Japan, according to announcements from its author, Georgi Gospodinov. Gospodinov confirmed on social media that the book was published in Tokyo in April by the Kayakawa publishing house. The publication marks a notable cultural milestone, as reviews indicate that it represents the first Bulgarian novel published in Japan since 1989, signaling a significant breakthrough for contemporary Bulgarian literature in the country.

Commercially, the novel has proven popular, currently ranking among the top five best-selling foreign publications on Amazon Japan. The translation process was handled by Kenji Terashima.
