The writer also notes that, according to reviews, this is the first Bulgarian novel published in Japan since 1989 and marks a breakthrough in the country.
At present, it is in the top 5 best-selling foreign publications in Japan according to Amazon. “Gaustin speaks Japanese. And he arrived in Japan before me – we will settle this,” Georgi Gospodinov adds in his post, noting that the translation was done by Kenji Terashima.
