Nessebar Municipality has announced plans for a series of events coinciding with the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, a comprehensive programme has been organized to mark the occasion. The festivities are scheduled to begin on May 7.
The day’s activities include a bazaar set up in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour of the seaside town starting at 10 a.m. The evening portion of the programme features performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town’s fortress walls will host a concert by the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R.
The municipality has also arranged for a fireworks display to follow the evening’s musical events. On the main day, May 8, when the Giro d’Italia commences, the municipality will organize a cross-country race utilizing the official race route. These planned concerts and activities are part of a larger effort by the municipality to celebrate the arrival of the major cycling event.
