Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive programme of events in anticipation of the start of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, the festivities will commence on May 7. The initial day’s activities will feature a bazaar held in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour through the seaside town beginning at 10 a.m.
The evening portion of the May 7 schedule includes performances by local groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre, alongside concerts featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R., which will take place in front of the Old Town’s fortress walls. The municipality is also organizing a fireworks display to conclude the evening’s events. On May 8, the day the Giro d’Italia begins, the municipality plans to host a cross-country race utilizing the official race route.
These preparations are part of the broader effort to welcome the major cycling event. The local council has put together this schedule of activities to engage residents and visitors alike during the week leading up to and including the start of the race.
