BTL Industries Bulgaria was named Investor of the Year 2025 at the 20th annual awards ceremony organized by the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA). During the event, Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova presented the award and the “Golden Bull” statuette to the company’s CEO, Veselin Karavasilev, at the Hyatt Regency Sofia. The recognition was given for BTL Industries’ EUR 51 million investment in Plovdiv in 2025, which generated over 700 jobs within the country’s manufacturing industries.
Since establishing operations in Bulgaria in 1998, the company has grown significantly, operating a research and development center in Sofia and employing over 850 people, making it a major employer in the Plovdiv region. The company exports medical devices to over 120 countries across six continents. Karavasilev stated that the award reflects the company’s sustained commitment to Bulgaria, noting that what began as a sales office has become BTL’s sole global production base.
He highlighted that annually, more than 40,000 devices are shipped from Bulgaria, suggesting the nation’s potential as a leading medical device manufacturer.
