Nessebar Municipality has announced a comprehensive series of events to coincide with the commencement of the Giro d’Italia 2026 on May 8. According to the municipality’s press centre on Friday, the accompanying programme is designed to engage residents and visitors in the build-up to the major cycling event. The festivities are set to begin on May 7.
The day’s activities include a bazaar taking place in Mesambria Square, followed by an amateur cycling tour through the seaside town, starting at 10 a.m. The evening portion of the programme features performances by various groups at the Yana Laskova National Community Centre. Additionally, the Old Town’s fortress walls will host a concert featuring the trio VIVA and the rock group B.T.R.
Following these musical events, the municipality has also arranged for a fireworks display. On May 8, the day the Giro d’Italia begins, the municipality will organize a cross-country race that follows the official race route. These planned activities aim to create a festive atmosphere surrounding the start of the prestigious race.
The overall programme ensures that both sporting enthusiasts and culture-seekers have opportunities to participate in the celebrations organized by the local authorities.
