Industrial producer prices in Bulgaria slowed their annual growth rate to 8.1% year-on-year in March, according to data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI). While the overall Producer Price Index (PPI) experienced a decrease of 0.8% in March 2026 compared to the preceding month, the year-on-year rate remained at 8.1% above the level recorded in March 2025. Examining the monthly fluctuations, the NSI reported that lower prices were observed in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas, which declined by 7.7% compared to February.
Conversely, increases were noted in the mining sector, which rose by 3.3%, and in manufacturing, which increased by 2.2% month-on-month. When analyzing the data on an annual basis, price growth for March showed a 40.4% increase in the mining industry, a 4.9% rise in manufacturing, and a 0.8% increase in the production and distribution of electricity, heat, and gas.
