Information Services reported on the extensive technical support provided during Bulgaria’s early parliamentary election held on April 19. The company managed the live broadcasting and video recording of ballot counting across 11,635 voting sections, representing 99.83% of all sections eligible for video coverage. According to the company, this figure marks a record high for video surveillance since its implementation.
The video surveillance platform, maintained by Information Services, attracted over 310,000 unique users following the election day, indicating a 164% increase in public interest compared to previous elections. A total of 11,493 sections broadcast the counting process live, setting a record for the service. Executive Director Ivaylo Filipov noted that the company completed the computer processing and rechecking of tally sheets by April 21, significantly ahead of the deadlines stipulated in the Election Code.
These services ensured the electoral process was managed with high quality and efficiency. To enhance transparency, Information Services developed the eProtocol mobile application. This tool assists section election commissions by validating data from tally sheets and allowing civic oversight of the electoral administration’s work.
The app was downloaded 21,000 times. Furthermore, the company presented an interactive visualization tool detailing the methodology for calculating election results and allocating mandates. These comprehensive services underline the company’s role in supporting the integrity of the election process.
