SPA Hotel in Razlog Reports Strong Interest from Visitors from Israel, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia

Petar Zahov, General Manager of the Katarino SPA Hotel in Razlog, reported growing international interest in the establishment, noting strong visitor interest from Israel, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia. While the hotel’s primary clientele remains Bulgarian, Zahov observed that demand from various international markets is increasing, suggesting sustained regional demand and solid brand recognition across the Balkans and the Middle East. The Katarino SPA Hotel was recently ranked first among Bulgaria’s top ten five-star mountain hotels for 2025, marking the second consecutive year of such recognition.

This ranking is based on the HotScore™ index, which evaluates guest reviews from over 1,200 hotels nationwide. The hotel has accumulated several accolades, including recognition as the best four-star mountain spa hotel in 2020 and the best four-star spa hotel offering locally sourced cuisine in 2022. The extensive spa centre provides complimentary access to numerous thermal and relaxation facilities.

These include indoor and outdoor pools heated to approximately 34°C, a cave-style jacuzzi, a salt room, and various saunas such as Finnish, Kiva, and infrared. Additional amenities feature an aroma and panoramic steam bath, a laconium, and a tepidarium. For treatments, the spa offers massages, hydrotherapy, and specialized therapies tailored for relaxation, recovery, and preventive care.

The hotel continues to enhance its wellness offerings, highlighted by the 2023 addition of an outdoor pool with an infinity jacuzzi. Furthermore, the spa area is designed to deliver a comprehensive wellness experience. BTA is currently showcasing certified spa and wellness centers in Bulgaria through its BG SPA: Salus per aquam feature, an initiative linked to the HEALTHXCHANGE SUMMIT in Varna in 2026.
